Tatums, Oklahoma

Tatums is a small town in Oklahoma with a population of around 150 peoples. It was one of the 50 All-Black Towns in Oklahoma and one of the 13 that still exist to this day! I think this town would be a great place to live because it was simple yet so extraordinary. One of the residents in this town, Henry Taylor, had a larger house where he would offer overnight stays for travelers. The town had a post office, a church, grocery store, a hotel, and a church! All the necessities of a successful Township! Although the racial violence and prejudice from the outside world and the great depression effected this town greatly, many of the Tatums residents stayed and kept the town going and it still stands today! All-Black Towns still face extinction today and people are fighting to keep these towns alive and also keep their history from fading away!
